Swampfest, the Land O' Lakes High School Booster Club's carnival fundraiser, is listed on the event's official site for Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 12-15, at Heritage Park, 5401 Land O' Lakes Blvd. (U.S. 41) — the park formerly known as the Land O' Lakes Community Center. Getting onto the midway costs nothing; parking is $10 per car for the day, and organizers say all of that money goes to LOLHS sports teams and clubs.

What it costs once you're inside

Rides, food and games are pay-as-you-go. The Swampfest ticket page currently says pre-sale ride tickets are closed, but that ride wristbands and individual ride tickets will be sold at the event all weekend — so a last-minute decision to go doesn't shut anyone out. Anyone who already bought a pre-sale wristband can pick it up at the will call booth with a valid ID or receipt.

Beyond the midway, the four-day run advertises live entertainment, food trucks and the Kim Fish Beer Garden, which serves draft beer and wine.

Before then: a free festival at the same park

Heritage Park has an earlier draw on the calendar. The Land O' Lakes-Lutz Courier lists a free Hispanic heritage festival at the park on Saturday, Oct. 10, with Latin music, food trucks, bounce houses and local vendors.
